Taking care of our curly hair is not easy but it is not as complicated as it seems! Since I follow the Curly Girl Method, I’ve discovered not only super hair care products, but also some useful tools that help to make my scalp feel comfortable, my hair look more beautiful and my curls last longer.

1. The scalp massager

I was actually looking for a hairdryer on Amazon when I came across this product. It turned out to be an excellent recommendation! Then I saw it used by several curly-haired bloggers and Youtubers, so I ordered this silicone scalp massager by Stetwill. I find it very useful and it is easy to find on sites like Amazon or Ebay.

It is small, easy to use because it slides into the palm and it feels very good to massage the scalp with it in the shower. I actually recommend it not only for curly hair because its main functions are to gently but thoroughly cleanse the scalp, remove product buildup, stimulate hair growth and prevent hair loss.

It can be easily hung anywhere, it fits in a small space.

Lately I have been using it every two days to massage the Camille Rose hair growth serum into my scalp.

I really like it because since I use it, I feel my scalp is always clean (and it really stimulates hair growth!). Many followers ask me if I feel that my scalp is really clean because I use a co-washt instead of a shampoo. This massager cleans it perfectly and I also use a clarifying shampoo once a month.

2. The Tangle Teezer Wet Detangler Brush

As the name suggests, this brush was invented to detangle wet hair. It is a perfect choice for detangling thick, curly hair because it glides very gently through the curls.

I use it on my wet hair after putting on a conditionar or a balm and since I use it my hair is a lot softer and my curls are better defined. I know this will sound like a scandal in the curly world, but I don’t feel like I need the famous Denman brush.

I ordered this Tangle Teezer from Lookfantastic. If you have not yet ordered from this website, you will receive a € 10 discount on your first order if you spend minimum € 30 with the PALMA-R1G discount code. Of course, it applies to everything, not just hair care. 🙂

3. The satin bonnet for sleeping

I mentioned a cap in one of my previous curly hair posts. That was a silk cap I ordered from Amazon, it was very useful, but it had a bad design, even though I tied it, it kept slipping off my head. And then I saw this Stay On Satin cap on the Afroitalia website.

It stays on my head nicely all night and of course I love this purple color too. 🙂

Why is it good to sleep in a silk or satin cap/bonnet? Because they prevent breakage and save your curls so we don’t wake up with that cotton candy effect the next day. Since I sleep in this bonnet my hair is much more manageable and I’ve also noticed that I suffer less from hair loss. I just put my hair in a pineapple, put the bonnet on and… buonanotte!

If you don’t like sleeping in a bonnet, then try a slik pillowcase to protect your curls.

4. The travel diffuser

Unfortunately, now our travel options are very limited due to the Covid19 outbreak, but I still wanted to show you this useful tool as well. In February, when we could still travel, I took this with me to Jerusalem and it did a very good job.

It is a foldable, travel diffuser that fits on most hairdryers. Hotels usually don’t have hairdryers with diffuser and I’ve always been upset that if I wash my hair and don’t have time to air dry it (or it is too cold, like in Jerusalem during winter), it will be ugly because a straight blow hairdryer just can’t dry the curls nicely. Well, here’s the solution. 🙂

It takes up very little space in the suitcase, is not heavy and can be easily applied on the simple hotel or gym hairdryers. For me, this product is a huge salvation, simply brilliant! I bought it here in Milan at Dmail, but it can also be found on Amazon, Ebay and similar sites.

5. The hairdryer

Finally, the hairdryer itself, which is a really important. I chose this Remington Pro-Air hairdryer because I have always been satisfied with the Remington tools (not sponsored, I wish…).

It is a very powerful, yet not heavy hairdryer, so I don’t feel like working out with weights on my arms during hair drying. And with such a large amount of hair, this is a huge plus!

It is simply fabulous, works with Ionic Technology that helps to reduce frizz and it really leaves my curls defined, smooth and shiny.

+1: The scrunchies!

Every curly girl needs some scrunchies! Silk and satin scrunchies are big friends of curly hair, they reduce breakage and frizz and won’t damage our hair while sleeping or working out.

I love this big one I received from CurlyEllie. It is so cute and fashionable, and handmade in the UK!

Previously I ordered these smaller ones from Lookfantastic.

I hope you enjoyed this post about my favorite tools for curly hair! What are yours?
